What Is a Lash Lift? Everything You Need to Know | Orlando Brow Studio

Updated: Mar 27

A lash lift is one of the most low-maintenance beauty treatments you can get — and one of the most satisfying. At Orlando Brow Studio, our lash lift and tint service is a client favorite, especially among Orlando-area women who want polished, wide-eyed lashes every single day without any daily effort.

What Is a Lash Lift?

A lash lift is a semi-permanent treatment that curls and lifts your natural eyelashes from the base, creating the appearance of longer, fuller, more wide-awake eyes. Unlike lash extensions, a lash lift works entirely with your own natural lashes — no glue, no synthetic fibers, and no maintenance appointments required between treatments.

Think of it as a perm for your lashes. The treatment uses silicone rods and a specially formulated lifting solution to permanently reshape the lash hairs into a beautiful upward curl that lasts 6–8 weeks.

How Does a Lash Lift Work?

During your lash lift appointment at Orlando Brow Studio, silicone lifting rods are placed on your eyelids. Your natural lashes are then carefully combed upward and adhered to the rods. A lifting solution is applied to soften and reshape the lash hairs, followed by a setting solution to lock the new curl in place. A nourishing conditioning treatment finishes the process to keep your lashes healthy.

Most clients add a lash tint to the same appointment, which darkens the lashes for a mascara-free look that defines the eyes even further. The full lash lift and tint takes approximately 45–60 minutes.

How Long Does a Lash Lift Last?

A lash lift typically lasts 6–8 weeks, aligning with your natural lash growth cycle. As your natural lashes shed and new ones grow in, the lifted curl gradually relaxes. Most clients at Orlando Brow Studio schedule their lash lift every 6–8 weeks to keep their lashes consistently lifted and curled.

Lash Lift Aftercare — What to Avoid

The first 24–48 hours after your lash lift are critical. Avoid getting your lashes wet, which means no showering directly on the lash area, no swimming, no steam rooms, and no heavy exercise. Avoid mascara for the first 24 hours. Do not rub your eyes or sleep face-down during this period.

After 48 hours you can return fully to your normal routine. Oil-free makeup removers are recommended long-term to help maintain your lift, as oil-based products can cause the curl to relax faster.

Lash Lift vs. Lash Extensions — Which Is Right for You?

Lash extensions add synthetic or natural fibers to your existing lashes for more dramatic volume and length. They require fill appointments every 2–3 weeks and careful daily maintenance. A lash lift works with what you have, requires zero upkeep between appointments, and is a fraction of the cost. If you want low-maintenance, natural-looking results that make your eyes pop, a lash lift and tint is almost always the better choice.
